Mr Black is a natural coffee product made without the use of artificial coloring or flavorings. It’s made with real coffee from Colombia and Ethiopia. For that reason – just like in your cup of coffee – a small amount of natural sediment can occur, caused by an interaction between high-proof alcohol, coffee and sugar. Any sediment in Mr Black is normally occurring, flavorless and completely safe to drink. Our production process does control the amount of sediment in each bottle to the degree possible, but filtration to entirely remove sediment would result in impact on the flavor of the liquid.

Yes. Mr Black is shelf stable for up to 2 years. Cold brew coffee tends to be more stable than coffee that’s brewed hot, allowing for better preserved flavor.
Mr Black exclusively sources specialty coffee, ensuring quality from origin. Specialty Coffee is an objective measure of quality. According to the Specialty Coffee Association’s 100-point scale, any coffee scoring 80+ points is considered specialty grade. Each lot of coffee that comes in is evaluated by the coffee roasting team. They evaluate the green coffee and provide a quality score based off industry standards. As for the roasted coffee, we have set specifications that are logged & tracked to ensure consistency and quality throughout the process.
First launched in Sydney in 2013, Mr Black is the brainchild of designer Tom Baker and leading Australian distiller Philip Moore. Together, they created Mr Black, an extraordinary coffee liqueur that combines two much-loved aspects of Australian life: good drinks and great coffee.
